Community

Actively supporting our community to build a better future.

Millbrook Group is passionate about supporting local charities with a particular focus on children’s education and happiness to help shape a better future.

Since its establishment in 1890, the overarching purpose of Cottage by the Sea is to provide a happy and healthy childhood for all children.

Cottage by the Sea – Queenscliff

Throughout its long history, the Cottage has provided short term care within a holiday environment for children in need. Millbrook Group has been a proud donor to this honourable charity for many years and share in many of the same values including Integrity, Respect & Community.

Located only a stone’s throw from the beach, Cottage by the Sea aims to empower young people by providing them with inspiration, fun and opportunity through our four tailored programs – Take A Break, REEF, Mentor and National. The young people who attend are chosen with the help of schools and welfare agencies from all around Australia.

The Jewish Children’s Aid Society (JCAS) is very involved in the field of education for children with special needs, and an organisation that Millbrook Group is a proud supporter of – both from a company and personal perspective.

Jewish Children's Aid Society (JCAS)

Within the Melbourne Jewish community there are a growing number of children with serious physical, intellectual and/or emotional disabilities. Only since 1990 has it been possible for these children to have the opportunity of having any meaningful education in mainstream Jewish day schools.

At present, support is being funded to different degrees for assistants for more than 245 children at the nine Jewish Day schools. Additional funds are required to provide the support that all high need cases require and deserve. We believe that every child is entitled to appropriate assistance to receive a proper education.

JCAS raises funds primarily through the Posh Opp Shoppe which is an opportunity shop run by staff and volunteers who work on a roster system under the energetic direction of Rosalie Silverstein OAM. The community provides wonderful support by donating furniture and goods. In addition, a growing number of financial donations are being received.
